The Chronos awards were presented on Friday night at Continuum 7 in Melbourne. The Chronos awards are presented for excellence in Victorian Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror (that’s Victorian as in relating to the Australian state, not the historical period). Over on Alan Baxter’s blog you can read the results of the 2011 awards. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
Keeping an eye out for New Zealanders on the award-scape, we note that the Best Short Fiction award went to Her Gallant Needs by Paul Haines. Watchers of the Sir Julius Vogel awards will be interested to note that this story was also on the SJV ballot but it lost out to another story by Paul – A Tale Of The Interferers – Hunger For Forbidden Flesh.
