It is only three weeks until Lexicon – the 2017 New Zealand national SF/F convention. If you have been putting off making a decision about making a trip to Taupo to attend, now is the time to get organised. The convention will be closing their membership signup process on 23rd May, so you don’t have much time.
As previously reported, the convention hotel is full up, but Taupo is a tourist town and a simple search will provide dozens of options. The convention has compiled a set of recommendations you should check out.
The Sir Julius Vogel Awards shortlist was announced earlier this month. LexiCon members, are all eligible to vote for these awards, and voting forms will be available at the convention. If you’d like to take a look at the nominated works in advance, many of them are available in a downloadable package – there is an authentication process before you can view the package. There will also be a display table at LexiCon with many of the shortlisted works for you to take a look at.
