This year, Geysercon are trying something different for book sales. Usually at a national SF convention, authors who wish to sell their own work at the convention would have had either a dealers room or a floating market where they would sell the work themselves. But Geysercon in conjunction with Atlantis Books of Rotorua are going to run a store where they will sell the books (and possibly other stuff) on your behalf. Registration for this service is now open – fill out the form to get your works in the store.
Registration for the book store closes Fri 17th May. You must be some level of Geysercon member to take advantage of this service. Lower cost non-attending memberships are available.
The following update comes from Geysercon – the 2019 NZ National SF Convention.
Due to circumstances outside everyone’s control, Jonathan Maberry is now unable to attend GeyserCon. We hope to see at him at a future New Zealand convention.
We’re very pleased to announce that award-winning Australian author and martial arts expert Alan Baxter has graciously agreed to be our Guest of Honour, alongside Kaaron Warren, Laura VanArendonk Baugh and Alena Van Arendonk.
Please note that early registration discounts still apply – details can be found at here. Don’t forget that when you register, you are eligible to enter fiction, poetry or art in the GeyserCon competitions. Also, all members completing their registration before January 30th will go into the draw for one FULL REFUND of the membership fee!
So by now, most of you know about GeyserCon. If you don’t, you need to know that GeyserCon 2019 is New Zealand’s 40th National Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention! It is being held in Rotorua over Queens Birthday weekend 2019.
If you aren’t sure what is happening at this event, the draft programme of events has just been released. As with most events of this type, there is much more that goes on at a convention than is on the programme, but it is a really good place to start. You really should give it a read.
It should be noted that there are still places for participants on some of the panels. If you have something to contribute on one of the topics, why not drop the committee a line and see if they can fit you in. Even better, if you have an event you want to run, please let them know.
