Voting now open for Sir Julius Vogel Awards

Members of GeyserCon and SFFANZ members are eligible to vote in the Sir Julius Vogel awards. You can, of course, vote at the convention or alternatively you can vote right away by submitting the electronic voting form. Instructions for using the electronic voting form can be found here on the SFFANZ web site.

At this point, you may be thinking “but how do I know who to vote for?”. The answer is simple – have a look at the SJV Packet – it contains examples and samples of the award nominated work. This material is kindly provided by the nominees and only available to eligible voters. The instructions for accessing this packet can be found here.

SJV Nominations Close in One Week

The nomination period for the 2019 Sir Julius Vogel Awards will close at 8.00 pm on 30 March 2019. That is just one week away, so please get your nominations in now.

The awards recognise excellence and achievement in science fiction, fantasy, or horror works created by New Zealanders and New Zealand residents, and first published or released in the 2018 calendar year. Full information about the awards, including links to the rules and other guidelines for the Sir Julius Vogel Award, can be found here.

The awards use a web-based nomination system. You can find the web form here. Anyone can make a nomination and it is free!

The awards will be presented at Geysercon – the 2019 National SF&F Convention.

Nominations for the 2019 Sir Julius Vogel Awards are now being accepted. The nomination period will close at 8.00 pm on 30 March 2019. The awards recognise excellence and achievement in science fiction, fantasy, or horror works created by New Zealanders and New Zealand residents, and first published or released in the 2018 calendar year.

Sir Julius Vogel Awards voting form now available

The voting form the for the 2018 Sir Julius Vogel Awards is now available.  The SJVs are the New Zealand National Science Fiction and Fantasy awards.  They are presented at the national convention.

To be eligible to vote, you must either be a member of SFFANZ and/or a member of Conclave 3.

You can find the voting form and instructions on the SFFANZ web site.

Votes must be received by Tuesday 27 March, 2018.

The awards will be presented at Conclave3, to be held over Easter weekend this year.

Nominations for the 2018 Sir Julius Vogel awards close today – i.e.  The nomination period will close at 8.00 pm (NZDT) on 2 February 2018.  So there is still time to get your nomination for a qualifying work in.
